  • God has a purpose for everyone- John 15:2, Ecclesiastes 3:1

  • The power of prayer-I Thessalonians 5:17

  • The Salvation of Man-Romans 3:24; Ephesians 2:8: Romans 10:8-10

  • The answers to life’s questions are in the word of God-Luke 11:9

  • All have the ability to change through the word-Romans 12:2

  • God loves me so much, he sees beyond my faults-1 Peter 5:7

OUR VISION

“Impacting the World through the Word.”

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. It is our hope that you will find answers to your questions at The Word Center. It is our vision to create a stimulating and relaxed environment where you may discover your God-given purpose. The Word Center is “Impacting the World through the Word.”

The Word Center is established upon outreach. We believe in reaching the world by utilizing unconventional methods. The following principles under-gird The Word Center:

HISTORY

History

“The Word” Center is humbled by what God has done in only 6 years! With over 1600 members and growing, the history of the “The Word” Center is still being written!

There’s a lot happening at “The Word” Center!  The Kingdom-driven outreach-centered ministry of “The Word” Center has members from all walks of life.

On June 6, 2010, Pastor Roderick Richardson and Minister Tyronda Richardson’s God-given vision became a reality. The Word Center opened its doors in the Callaway High School auditorium with over 100 guests in attendance. On opening day, photographers, videographers and a live band were all present causing those entering to wonder if they were joining the service of a mega ministry, however, the Word Center was just starting although it is far from a startup. From the parking lot to the pulpit, heartfelt love is prevalent and exudes in a major way. Possessing the unique consummate style of serving, with relevant and practical teachings, the Word Center is poised for greatness.

Pastor Roderick Richardson, founder and Senior Pastor of this fresh and vibrant ministry, delivers the Word of God in a powerful and practical way that leaves those listening wanting more. His Facebook and Twitter posts during the week provides only a snippet of what his members receive on Sundays and Wednesdays, where he can be found commanding the stage with jeans and a prestige shirt delivering the Word of God. The environment of the Word Center is relaxing and inviting because members and visitors are encouraged to come with their own swagger. Pastor Richardson known to his members as simply Pastor Rich often reminds those attending that “You can come as you are, but you won’t stay as you are.”

Committed to impacting its community, the Word Center has wasted no time in making an immediate impact on the community it serves. On August 8, 2010, members of The Word Center presented a check to the Callaway High School Varsity Football team to acquire 85 new jerseys. The team last received new jerseys three years ago and members of the church didn’t want them to have to wait another year, so they made it happen only 2 weeks after finding out they needed jerseys. Focused on outreach, in November, “The Word” Center distributed hundreds of “care kits” to the homeless in downtown Jackson, Mississippi.

Our Vision

OUR CORE PRINCIPALS

NETWORKING

Spreading the Word-The Word Center believes in ministering the unadulterated Word of God to all people from all backgrounds on their perspective levels (John 1:1). Evangelizing the lost is a priority according to Matthew 28: 19-20. The Word Center is poised to spread the Word to all races, sexes, and socio-economic classes.

MEETING NEEDS

Meeting needs-The Word Center believes in feeding and clothing those in need. It is the desire of The Word Center to provide essential needs without bureaucracy. Matthew 25:35-36 states “I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. “

MINISTERING

Ministering to hurting people-Many individuals have experienced calamity in their personal and public lives. Healing, delivering, and recovery was a vast part of Jesus’ ministry. Luke 4:18 states, “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” At The Word Center, we aim to provide the resources necessary to uplift, heal, and restore those hurt by life’s pressures.

TOUCHING THE CITY

Touching the City-With so many needs and few laborers, God has called us to “Take the City.” Working in conjunction with state agencies, local community groups, and churches, we aim to uplift the marginalized and encourage the discouraged.
